A STUDY OF LIMINALITY, 2020

These works were created after the first wave of Covid lockdown.
Responding to the shockwaves of disruption echoed through 2020
likened to an enormous pendulum swing creating a liminal space in-between.

The quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in uncertain transitional times
allows for social hierarchies to be reversed or temporarily dissolved
and future outcomes once taken for granted may be thrown into doubt.
The dissolution of order during liminality creates a fluid,
malleable situation that enables new ways of being and customs to become established.
