THE REFLECTION OF THE MOON

If the day is, in its essence, awakened consciousness beamed brilliant by the sun,
then surely the night is the realm of the vast unknown and the great mystery.
And within that night, the moon glides – rhythmically, silently.
Transmuting golden light into threads of fine silver.

I notice, now, this illumination that penetrates me:
under which the plants come alive,
under which the earth glows.
It is by those softer rays within my darkness
that the light of awareness turns inward.

In the reflection of the moon is a perception
steeped in the ineffable that breathes,
bridges a gateway.
Over which I walk bravely into the new day.
