CHAOS THEORY Series
In Chaos Theory, FAITH XLVII engages in a meticulous, labor-intensive processof deconstructing and reconfiguring world maps and atlases.
These intricately handcrafted textile works reimagine the contours of geographic and political boundaries.
By reassembling cartographic materials into layered, tactile tapestries,
they question the space between land and sea and reposition natural cartographic formations.
The result is a visual language that questions the permanence and politics of place,
calling into focus themes of migration, displacement, land ownership,
while also speaking to the elemental substrates that connect us to our planet and other species residing therein.
While rooted in material beauty, Chaos Theory invites deeper contemplation.
It asks viewers to reconsider the way we see the world, not as static, but as a fluid, interconnected and constantly changing.
