MONIKER ART FAIR, LONDON, U.K, 2018

For the Moniker Art Fair in London, Faith XLVII premiered an immersive piece ‘The Disintegration of Self’. This emotive video work is a visual exploration of the Atom Bomb; the ultimate symbol of war. Encompassing the human capability for destruction, yet undeniably formally beautiful. The piece highlights the sheer power of human creations, noting how brilliant discoveries, such as Einstein’s, can ultimately be used for violent atrocities.
A call against war, the work is both haunting and mesmerizing. Aged, torn curtains are the surface for these visuals which are housed within the structure of a refugee shelter. The sound component, produced with Vishanthi Kali, is a sanskrit chant paying homage to divine powers.
