OFFLINE, MOSCOW, RUSSIA, 2018
Artmossphere is the only Russian biennale that introduces general public to the most prominent street artists from all over the world and boosts the development of the local street art scene. The first two biennales took place in Moscow in 2014 and 2016, showcasing world-wide famous artists and collectives, including L’Atlas, Faith XLVII, The London Police, Miss Van, as well as Russian artists and a number of foreign experts including legendary Martha Cooper, famous for documenting the New York graffiti back in the 1980s.
For Artmossphere Moscow 2018, Faith teamed up with South African designer and inventor, Lyall Sprong for their 4th collaborative installation.

Their installation considers the difference between reality and virtual experience. Through playing with the refresh rates of LEDs the image captured on a phone is different to what is seen with the naked eye. In so doing rather than advocating for a hierarchy between real and virtual, their installation merely encourages attention to the difference between the two.
The shape of the work references the geometry of the Mandalora, with an the impetus is on the individual to contemplate a middle path.
